St. Johns Bizarre

Every year on the 2nd Saturday in May, they hold the St.John's Bizarre, in Portland.
Below are some photos I took while cruising the market.

Just a little piece, I thought we were friends?

Empty keg theft is on the rise in Portland.

One day I'll break outta this stinkin' stroller,
and get me some real wheels, just like that.

Tired, so very tired.

The House Next Door

Scaffolding set up to fix the fascia and a fresh coat of paint (yay!).  The new colours are charcoal grey with white highlighting the architectural details.  Very nice.

Kichri with Massour Dal

I just made this recipe that I found through another newsletter that I receive (from the website www.eatthispoem.com), and it's so good!  It's essentially lentils cooked with rice and some spices.  To look at the recipe, it doesn't look like it would be up to much, but it's one of those things where the end result is greater than the sum of its parts.  It turns out really well following the recipe, unlike some recipes where the thing isn't cooked enough in the end.  It's very tasty and easy, so I thought someone else might like to try it too...

Today in Picton

Today Lily and Sophie both got special bones from the farm supply store, and we all enjoyed some time outside in the garden.

Trellis at the Back

Last week, Mom and Dad came over and put this trellis up for me.  It looks SO much better, and helps to hide the atrocities that occur two yards over, besides giving some much-needed privacy to this area.  Today I bought a cedar tree, and Mom gave me some ferns and periwinkle from their garden to further beautify the area.  The first photo is the "before" and the second is the "after".
Before.  Ugly chain link fence, no privacy.

Tight-Rope Action

Tight-Rope Practice

This couple thought they'd get in some tight-rope rehearsal, in the park across the street today.
