Sunny December Day in Portland
A rare very sunny day in December! Emmy and I were on our morning walk, and this view struck my eye...the sunlight was shining through the xmas lights in the trees, although it's a bit hard to see in the photo:

Today on our walk, I plucked this nice ripe fig from a branch that was hanging over the sidewalk.
Another Beach Post...
Shane took Friday off, and we went to the beach again...but this time we stayed until the tide had gone out. Tucked away in the nooks and crannies of the big rocks were starfish, sea anemones, crabs, tiny fish, mussels, barnacles, and funny little hermit crabs.
I'm still practising the time-lapse method, so I've also made another video. It's a bit monotonous (and therefore, completely realistic), but thought you might like to see Emmy (or "Bubby") in all her craziness.

Summer Fun
We've had unusually hot weather this Summer,
so to cool off we took a trip to the beach to beat the heat.
Ontario to Oregon...in less than five minutes
It's taken me almost a year, but I finally put together all the photos I took along the way on our trip from Ontario to Oregon. I wanted to make what's called a "time-lapse" technique film, so it's more fun to look at the photos :). The quality isn't the best, because I had a 100MB limit for uploading, but hopefully it's watchable. (You can make the screen bigger by clicking on the little box shape in the bottom right hand corner next to the YouTube symbol). There's also sound, so make sure your speakers are turned on!
Indian Beach
The weather was forecast to be really hot here this past weekend, so we thought we'd escape some of the heat if we went to the seaside. Shane found a great beach; it's in a state park so it's not as touristy as the last one we went to (Cannon Beach). Luckily, he remembered to bring his camera. Emmy had a GREAT time (and so did we).
